Dr. Dawant was born in Nashville, Tennessee. She went to Vanderbilt for her undergraduate studies in Engineering Science and Biological Sciences and continued on at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in the dual degree DVM/PhD program. She has always had a strong love for animals and a passion for healthy and sustainable relationships between wild and domestic animals. She also has training in endoscopy. In her free time, she loves to be outside either hiking, camping, rock climbing, or simply enjoying the sunshine with her dog Maple and cats Tater Tot and Beans.
